Garden Group

Group Title: Garden Group
Group Description: We maintain the garden at the Quoile Countryside Centre. The centre supplies tools, use of the garden shed, greenhouse and if Martin Hampton (the warden) is about – tea, coffee and biscuits. We all enjoy the work and the chat, but most of all the tea. It is a very friendly group, made up of people with varying skills and knowledge. The response we have had from people visiting the garden has been lovely. Come and give it a try, fresh air, exercise: who needs the gym? This is much more fun. Everything is there, although some people bring their own gloves. Come as often as you want – difficult to make every week. We don’t use any power tools, just need to watch out if using secateurs. We have visited Magheratimpany garden and hope to arrange more visits in the future.

A strange couple of years, but at last this year we managed a couple of outings

Visit to the Rose Garden at Rossglass

Visit to The Rose Garden

We also made it to Seaforde, a bit wetter but still very enjoyable, nearly lost Jack in the maze.  He slipped out the other side and hid.

Here he is talking to Carol

More roses, in Belfast this time.

We still find time to look after the garden at the Quoile Countryside Centre, lots of work to do soon.  New plant containers have arrived, just waiting for their bottoms, soil would fall through at the moment.

New recruits very welcome
