Our next monthly meeting will be on Monday 24th October 2016 at 10:30 am in Downpatrick Golf Club. There will be a speaker (Neil Porteus from Mount Stewart) and an update of future activities with a chance to book your place on trips. Note that the meeting will be in the Function Room and so does not involve any stairs.
The U3A works through small interest groups, so check the list of groups below and in Groups on the panel above to see what you might enjoy. Click on the Group name to see what they do and who are involved. If your special interest is not there come along and find others with similar ideas. For more information e-mail email@example.com, leave a phone number and we will contact you.
What is U3A? U3A stands for University of the Third Age. It is a collective of older people which enables members to share many educational, creative and leisure activities. Anyone in the Third Age can join a U3A provided they are no longer in full time employment. There are currently over 900 U3As in the UK with almost 320,000 members, 23 in Northern Ireland with around 6,000 members.
What do we do? You can join as many groups as you like or just come to the monthly talk. Current groups in Downe U3A are:
